RL-B7YID-TY WiFi Video Door Phone System Review
The RL-B7YID-TY WiFi Video Door Phone System is an advanced, smart residential entry and access control solution engineered for modern homes, multi-story apartments, gated villas, and light commercial spaces. By merging a reliable physical wiring architecture with cloud-managed internet capabilities, this system elevates standard intercom designs into an interactive smart home node.
Powered by the universally trusted Tuya Smart / Smart Life ecosystem, the RL-B7YID-TY ensures you can visually verify, communicate with, and grant access to visitors from a wall station or anywhere in the world via your mobile device.
Smart Processing & High-Definition Video Architecture
At the technical center of the RL-B7YID-TY system is a hybrid infrastructure that pairs a physical 4-wire backbone between units with a 2.4GHz WiFi communication module built into the master station. This ensures rock-solid signal reliability inside the property while providing zero-latency cloud streaming to mobile endpoints.
The physical architecture and surveillance configuration includes:
- 7-Inch Touchscreen Monitor: Features a vibrant, high-definition capacitive touchscreen interface that replaces mechanical buttons to eliminate surface wear.
- 2MP 1080P AHD Outdoor Camera: Captures crisp, high-definition entry footage using a 140° wide-angle lens matrix.
- Infrared (IR) Night Vision: Automatic light compensation sensors trigger hidden IR LEDs to produce clear black-and-white visual tracking in complete darkness.
- Weatherproof Metal Alloy Station: Built with an IP44-rated, anti-vandalism aluminum enclosure engineered to withstand rain, oxidation, and direct physical impacts.
Technical Specifications Checklist
For architectural electrical detailing, site integration plotting, and smart home layouts, precise data points are essential. Below is the verified hardware matrix for the RL-B7YID-TY:

Specialized Automation & Multi-Tiered Access Security
The RL-B7YID-TY sets itself apart from standard localized bells by serving as a comprehensive gateway management solution.
Automated Motion-Triggered Surveillance
The outdoor pod features highly sensitive motion detection logic. The moment a person steps within range of your entrance—even if they never press the buzzer button—the system captures high-definition snapshots or video captures onto the local TF card and pushes a text alert straight to your phone.
Multi-Channel Gate & Door Release Triggers
The outdoor call station features integrated 125kHz RFID proximity readers and code keypads. Family members or trusted personnel can instantly unlock the perimeter gate via custom pins or keyfobs, while residents can use the remote application link or indoor monitor to drop standard 12V locks for delivery personnel.
Comprehensive Ecosystem Expansion
The internal firmware cleanly coordinates complex system topologies. A single infrastructure run can scale up to support 2 door stations, 2 independent analog CCTV cameras, and 4 mirroring indoor monitors working concurrently to track large residential or light industrial structures.
Key Limitations to Consider Before Buying
To maximize operational performance, ensure your layout deployment variables avoid these constraints:
- Requires Wired Inter-Unit Paths: Despite being labeled as a “WiFi” door phone, the wireless radio is exclusively used for smartphone cloud communication. The connection between the outdoor camera and indoor panel still demands a physical 4-core cable run.
- 2.4GHz Network Restrictions: The cloud transmission module is built strictly for standard 2.4GHz Wi-Fi bands. It will not recognize or sync to high-frequency 5GHz corporate routers, requiring a dedicated smart home SSID layout.
- Local Storage Memory Limits: The system stores high-definition video loops natively but requires an auxiliary high-speed MicroSD card (up to 64GB) which is typically purchased independently of the base retail kit
