Sony SRG-A40 4K PTZ Camera with Built-In AI and 30x Optical Zoom
The Sony SRG-A40 4K PTZ Camera with Built-In AI establishes an elite benchmark for automated tracking and telephoto performance in large auditoriums, corporate presentation halls, expansive houses of worship, and remote broadcast facilities. Built as a fully autonomous robotic tracking system, this high-performance PTZ camera features a powerful onboard AI analytics engine that manages pan, tilt, and zoom movements internally. Delivering pristine 4K video alongside massive magnification capabilities, the SRG-A40 eliminates manual tracking overhead while integrating smoothly into professional streaming, broadcast, and video collaboration environments.
Core Specifications and Key Features
High-Sensitivity Exmor R CMOS Sensor
The camera features a high-fidelity 1/2.5-type back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor optimized for exceptional image clarity across varying light levels. It natively outputs high-resolution UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) video at 30p, using oversampled data pipelines to deliver outstanding structural crispness, natural color replication, and excellent low-light noise control.
Built-In AI PTZ Auto-Framing Technology
Driven by an internal, dedicated AI hardware processing engine , the SRG-A40 automatically detects, identifies, and tracks a presenter without requiring an external server or calibration PC.
- Intelligent Posture Tracking: Uses advanced deep-learning algorithms to recognize human bodies and skeletal frames, maintaining a sticky lock even if the subject turns their back, wears a mask, or navigates behind a podium.
- Dynamic Tracking Profiles: Offers automated tracking adjustments for Close-Up , Waist-Up , and Full-Body framings, matching the visual pacing of the presenter naturally.
- Smooth Fluid Mechanics: High-torque direct-drive motors combine pan, tilt, and zoom maneuvers into a single, cohesive, simultaneous fluid motion.
Specialized 30x Optical Zoom Lens & Telephoto Reach
- Massive Focal Range: Integrated with a premium lens providing a 30x optical zoom reach, allowing sharp captures from the back of deep auditoriums or balconies.
- Clear Image Zoom: Extends tracking capabilities smoothly up to 40x zoom in UHD 4K or an expansive 80x zoom in Full HD using Sony’s advanced Super Resolution Technology without degrading structural image resolution.
Deployment Flexibility and Motion Presets
- PTZ Motion Sync: Seamlessly interpolates structural preset positions, ensuring manual or automated camera changes look organic and professional on screen.
- Inverted Ceiling Rigging: Built-in orientation sensors automatically flip the video feed and control pathways when mounted upside down, streamlining inverted ceiling setups or standard desktop placements.
