Key Features of Sony Alpha a7 IV Mirrorless Camera (Body Only)
- 33MP Full-Frame Exmor R Sensor : Utilizes a back-illuminated CMOS structure to deliver a substantial resolution increase, capturing intricate details, fine textures, and massive cropping flexibility.
- BIONZ XR Image Processor : Delivers up to 8x more processing power than earlier generations, enabling lightning-fast camera operations, rapid menu navigation, and minimal rolling shutter.
- 759-Point Focal Plane Phase-Detection AF
: Covers roughly 94% of the image frame with a dense, highly responsive grid for instantaneous subject acquisition and locked-on tracking.
- AI-Driven Real-Time Eye AF : Tracks the eyes of humans, animals, and birds across both still photography and video recording modes, maintaining critical focus automatically.
- 5.5-Stop In-Body Image Stabilization : Advanced 5-axis sensor-shift hardware eliminates handheld shake, allowing for sharp low-light stills at slower shutter speeds and stable video clips.
- 4K 60p and Oversampled 4K 30p Video : Records ultra-smooth, high-frame-rate 4K footage or captures rich, cinematic 4K 30p oversampled from the full 7K sensor readout with zero pixel binning.
- 10-Bit 4:2:2 Internal Recording : Supports advanced intra-frame (All-I) and Long GOP compression formats directly to memory cards, providing massive latitude for professional color grading.
- S-Cinetone Color Profile : Inherits color science from Sony’s high-end Venice cinema cameras, rendering beautiful, true-to-life skin tones and soft highlight roll-offs straight out of camera.
- Innovative Focus Breathing Compensation : Marginally adjusts the sensor crop during recording to eliminate distracting shifts in angle of view when pulling focus between subjects.
- Fully Articulating Vari-Angle Touchscreen : Features a side-opening flip-out LCD screen that allows for seamless self-vlogging, vertical social media compositions, and complex high/low angles.
- Dedicated Still/Movie/S&Q Dial : Incorporates a stacked physical mode dial on the top plate, allowing you to instantly switch settings and menus between photos, video, and slow motion.
- Dual Media Slots with CFexpress Support : Includes a flexible multi-slot that accepts either ultra-fast CFexpress Type A cards or high-speed UHS-II SD cards alongside a dedicated SD bay.
- UVC/UAC Live Streaming via USB-C : Streams up to 4K resolution video directly to computers or mobile devices without external capture cards, serving as a premium webcam.
- Robust Weather-Sealed Chassis : Assembled with a highly rigid magnesium alloy frame and enhanced body seams to withstand dust, moisture, and challenging outdoor elements.
Product Overview
The Sony Alpha a7 IV (Body Only) redefines modern multimedia performance, striking a perfect balance between high-end commercial imagery and professional video capability. At its foundation is a newly developed 33-megapixel back-illuminated sensor. This resolution boost gives photographers a distinct competitive edge, allowing for massive large-format prints and the freedom to crop tightly into a scene without sacrificing image structure. Despite the denser pixel arrangement, the sensor structure retains an expansive 15-stop dynamic range and pristine low-light noise control, preserving delicate shadow details in high-contrast environments.
